So are you reading lots of books, crocheting some afghans, watching daytime TV, etc.??

When forced to watch the court shows in the workplace break room, I can tolerate Judge Greg Mathis.

Some people watch the most awful crap when all I want to do is RELAX !!!!!  And am I the only person in the entire world who still turns down commercials ?!?!?!  Can't stand being screamed at from a TV or radio..............

I think I am one of the only people in the world that watches all commercials.. I enjoy seeing what marketing strategies are involved in the pitch.. and which ones seem to work, and which ones eventually fall on deaf ears.....

The vast majority assault my senses.  If one starts with pretty music, or a pleasant image, I will keep watching.  I do sometimes find clever and cute ones that are non-insulting, and look forward to seeing those again.

Unlike most targeted consumers I am not deaf, nor am I attracted by flashing lights............... :eyes:  I can recognize local & national ad screamers in a nanosecond and shut them down.

So have you charted & graphed your observations ?? That would be a good project for your current down time...............  Besides, I would be interested in the results of your study.

The commercial with the father carrying his daughter's pink cell phone cracks me up lately...

That IS a good one. I guess the most effective ads that are made are ones that you can see as something that COULD happen in real life... not like someone giving you a free cxar or something..

Then there ARE a few that are clever, while being fookish, but foolish enough to get your attention.. like the big head Jack in the Box commercials. Or the King (creeps me out) in the Burger King commercials....

The King creeps me out too...but I don't like BK to begin with. And NO Pepsi commercial, no matter how clever, could convince me to drink that carp.

I like the big head Jack in the Box commercials, mostly when Jack has a different expression than the smile.

Love the Corona ads ---- no flashing lights or noise, just wonderful beaches with some cleverness thrown in.  Especially enjoy their Christmas one.

I get a kick out of the "who's in your five" ad with the family at the table, and the daughter names her best friends.  Son gives the same names, adding "Your friends are HOT."

Girl then asks Dad to do something; he says "Maybe you should get uglier friends."  Soooo wrong, but so funny !!!

Also like the one with the dad going on a business trip, and the little girl adds her stuffed animal to the suitcase.  Dad sends pics through cell phone to the home computer of animal at various locations.  Last one is of the front of the house, and daughter's face lights up when she realizes Daddy's home.
